Lockinge is ‘main target’ for French ace.
A trip to Saudi Arabia has not been ruled out for Francis-Henri Graffard's stable star The Revenant.
Formerly trained in Britain by Hugo Palmer, the son of Dubawi won eight of his first 10 starts – producing a career-best performance when winning with real authority in the Group Two Prix Daniel Wildenstein at ParisLongchamp in early October.
The five-year-old was last seen filling the runner-up spot behind King Of Change in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot – and is reported to be rude health ahead of the new campaign.
Whether he returns in the $20million Saudi Cup next month, or waits for the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in early May, remains to be seen.
Graffard said: "Obviously I made the entry (in the Saudi Cup). He is a soft-ground horse, which is why I entered him on the dirt.
"He is in top form. Saudi Arabia is not his main target, to be fair, but we thought we'd give him the entry to keep all options open.
"I am very happy with the horse and his main target is the Lockinge at Newbury."
