The Racing and Sports Priceline takes aim at the opening day of Glorious Goodwood 2020 - headlined by the Goodwood Cup.
Day One of five glorous days on the downs at Goodwood is headlined by the Goodwood Cup and the Champion stayer Stradivarius who arrives on the back of what may have been his best performance of all.
He trounced them in the Gold Cup, and while there is new blood on offer here - most obviously the Irish Derby winner Santiago - there is little doubt that Stradivarius is the one they all must take aim at.
Racing and Sports Pricing Model has a love-hate relationship with Stardivarius. There's obviously plenty to like, and he is invariably the most likely winner of these staying contests, but the Model struggles to mark him as short as the public market.
Again, that looks like being the case in 2020, but not by much this time. The big last start rating goes a long way to convincing the Model that he is deep odds on for a reason. It certainly doesn't see much value in betting against him this time, and the race is probably best left alone.
A big festival brings out big betting and good options for punters and the Lennox fits the bill as an appealing betting contest with lots of options and angles in play.
That means an open market but the Model can find Space Blues as a bet with prices bigger than 9/4 on offer and the potential for better as we get towards the race - hopefully concerns about the barrier among other queries pick up steam and push the price out further. He has impressed, cutting down a couple of key rivals here in lead ups this season, and has peaks even better than that form from last season that look well within range in a targetted race.
Among the handicaps the most interesting Model play on day one comes in the second where Cape Cavalli hits high on a couple of key variables in another race where punters are likely to get good bang for their buck.
