Winter Festival at Vincennes continues.
The Winter Festival at Vincennes continues with the second of the four main qualifiers for the G1 Prix d'Amerique (2700m) – the G2 Grand Prix du Bourbonnais (2850m) on 13 December. The top three will automatically gain entry to the G1 Grand Prix d'Amerique (2700m) on the last Sunday in January and will likely face the winners of the Prix Marcel Laurent and Grand Prix de Bretagne, Face Time Bourbon and Diable De Vauvert.
As a qualifier, the G2 Grand Prix du Bourbonnais has a mixed record in the G1 Prix d'Amerique (2700m) with only two of the last ten winners completing the double in the same season. However, the race consistently attracts a strong field of competitors and many go on to feature prominently in the big race – the most recent example would be Belina Josselyn, second in the Grand Prix du Bourbonnais in 2018 and successful in the Prix d'Amerique the following January. In the last few years, the G2 Grand Prix du Bourbonnais has been dominated by Délia du Pommereux. Despite a below-par start to the campaign, the mare will be attempting to complete an historic hat-trick in the race.
