A 1-2-3 in the Sussex Stakes continued the three-year-olds strong run against the older horses, following their successes in the Eclipse and King George. On the third day of Glorious Goodwood they will bid for more success with four of the six runners from the classic generation, headed up by the Prix Diane winner Joan Of Arc.

The older pair have the form on the board though and it's Audarya who leaps off the page as the likeliest winner following her second placed effort in the Prince Of Wales last time.

That in itself might not be the most convincing bit of form, it was a muddling race and both Love and Armory have run plain races since, but it doesn't stand alone for Audarya who was arguably just as impressive winning at the Breeders Cup (second through sixth were all Group One winners) and the Prix Rothschild and running third in the Prix L'Opera. The latter two on soft ground in France which bodes well for her on ground riding soft at Goodwood this week.

The Racing and Sports Pricing Model likes strong connections, and that draws her towards Joan Of Arc, but the form edge is big enough to make Audarya the clear horse to beat and the booking of William Buick is a winner.

Lady Bowthorpe's second to Palace Pier in a strongly run race makes her the closest form challenger to Audarya but she doesn't have the same bulk of ratings around that isolated peak. She has run two good races since, and without ideal runs in either of them, so she is one to go well. But the model can't see that and prefers the chances of Audarya who appeals as a bet as her price slides out beyond $3.00.

Recommended Bets: Back Audayra in the Nassau.
