Kyoto Mile G1 2018.

3 minute read

Sunday’s feature of the day is this G1 to be run on the Kyoto track before the focus moves to Tokyo for the Japan Cup next Sunday.

The Yasuda Kinen winner Mozu Ascot is the top pick here. The Frankel product will have Christophe Lemaire in the irons and is on 3.1 in the Morning Line.

The filly Aerolithe recently won the Mainichi Oken over the longer trip and the drop to the mile won’t do her any harm. Ryan Moore takes the ride. She’s on 5.7.

Last year’s winner Persian Knight will be ridden by Mirco Demuro and is on 6.9. Al Ain is a horse we like a lot and he’s on 8.9 for this that looks to be value with Yuji Kawada riding. And the second UK jockey to have a temporary licence (Ryan Moore being the other one) is William Buick and he will be on Stelvio, a 3yo son on Lord Kanaloa.

The flying horsebox heads to Japan next week to bring you all the news for the Japan Cup 2018.
