The Victoria Mile for f&m 4+ is run at Fuchu and this year’s edition looks interesting.
Obviously these runners are not aiming at the Yasuda Kinen where Almond Eye is expected to run.
Lucky Lilac by Orfevre was second in the Oka Sho 2018 to Almond Eye and is expected to start favourite. Currenly she’s on 5.3. However favourites don’t have such a great record in this. Primo Scene is on 7.0, our friend Aerolithe 7.5, Red Olga 8.4 and we very much like Cantabile, a daughter of Deep Impact who has had one run following a 5 months spell. Mirco Demuro will be in the saddle.
Saturday sees the running of the G2 Keio Hai Spring Cup. It’s for 4y+ over 1400m. The well-named Tower of London (x Raven’s Pass) is a 4yo Godolphin colt and will be ridden by Damian Lane. 4.9 is the current quote. To The Crown is on 5.5, Smart Odin 7.0 with a wide draw and Logi Cry 7.3.
It seems there are no Hong Kong horses coming to the Yasuda Kinen which is a big shame.
