And one of the owners is football great Michael Owens, who previously had owned Brown Panther.

So it is great to see him back with a very promising horse, trained by Tom Dascombe and ridden by Richard Kingscote.  They went off at 28/1 and beat Growl by ½ length and Gulliver another ½ length back in third, followed by Summerghand 11/1 fourth and Embour 20.1 fifth.

The Firth of Clyde G3 went to Rose of Kildare for Mark Johnston and Joe Fanning from Graceful Magic 5/1 and Endless Joy 20/1.  Favourite Oriath was fourth.

At Newbury Pierre Lapin was no bunny as he won the Mill Reef by 1 ½ lengths from Mystery Power.  They were the joint favourites.

For those who didn't remember him, Brown Panther had to be euthanised after a fall in the Irish St Leger and Michael Owens decribed it as the saddest day of his life.
