Another favourite mare will be retiring after this – last year's winner Laurens.
She's on 7/2 to win a 7th G1 in this 1600m race and although she didn't win the Matron at last outing – that win went to Iridessa the joint favourite here – there was possibly a bruise coming out which may have inconvenienced her.
But they will both have to beat Hermosa the dual Guineas winner returning to her favourite track and her second in the Matron showed she was coming into some good form.
