Two G1s at Sha Tin on Sunday

3 minute read

The Kong Kong Gold Cup and the Queens Silver Jubilee Cup will be the features.

And again they will be seen by more people on TV than can attend the meeting.  It's so sad for all concerned and we hope there will be a very bright light at the end of the tunnel.

The Gold Cup is over 2000m and not surprisingly Exultant is an odds-on favourite for this with Zac Purton to ride the Tony Cruz trained star.  Considering the odds-on G1 record there is a bit of value around with Glorious Dragon 9.3, Furore (with Jamie Spencer coming in to ride for Frankie Lor) on 19.0 and our roughie Doctor Geoff on 37.0.

The Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup is over 1400m is intriguing:  as usual Beauty Generation comes in for heavy local support and is on 2.1 but we prefer Beat The Clock on current form and 3.3 is reasonable.  There's only 7 runners and you may wish to include Hot King Prawn in the mix on 7.0.

There's a get-out in Race 10, a Class 2 over 1400m which is very open.  Happy Fun is on 4.8, Uncle Steve on 6.0 and we rather like Star Shine here on 10.0.
