Sunday at Chukyo

3 minute read

The Takamatsunomiya KInen is the first turf G1 off the season and is over 1200m.

The weather doesn't look to be too pleasant and there just may be a wet track.

The Morning Line has the 4yo daughter of Deep Impact Gran Alegria on 3.9.  She's lightly raced, has won 4 from 6 including the G2 Hanshin Cup which she won by 5 lengths.

Tower of London, by Raven's Pass, is a model of consistency winning 7/15 but placed in most of the rest.  He's on 4.7.  Danon Smash is by Lord Kanaloa and all his races have been over 1200 – he's won 5 from 10.

Mozu Ascot was being prepared to come to Sydney for the Doncaster over 1600m but the travel restrictions put paid to this plan.  Yahagi-sensei has been training him on the dirt at Tokyo so he'll have no trouble with the direction and has proved useful over both dirt and turf.  He won the February Stakes, the first G1 of the year, on dirt over 1600m but his trainer thinks the drop in trip should not be a problem.  8.7 is available.
