This is a rare event and it's the January Cup over 1800m.
Most group races are held at Sha Tin so it's a chance to look at some horses who seem to like the Happy Valley track.
They include Savvy Nine, the Douglas Whyte trained runner who will be ridden by Christophe Soumillon. They are on top on 2.9 as the horse has previously shown his liking for the track and the trip will suit.
There's been a bit of attention on Singapore Sling who hasn't raced at the city track since 2017 – when he won! He's quoted at 6.6 with Schofield riding for Millard.
We like the Frankie Lor trained Reliable Team here for a bit of value on 10.0. Moreira rides this one.
