There is the American Jockey Club Cup at Nakayama and the Tokai Stakes at Chukyo.
Unfortunately we do not have the expected market from the JRA for the first of these so we have to wing it with our selections. It is over 2200m on turf.
There is another interesting runner from an Argentinian mare here – Satono Flag – who is by Deep Impact and his dam is Balada Sale, one of the Argentinian mares sent to Japan a few years ago and this is her Deep Impact colt. He ran third in the Japanese St Leger last year so the distance will not be a problem.
Weltreisender was third in the Japanese Derby last year and could show here. Aristoteles is the mount of Christophe Lemaire and was second in the St Leger, and Win Marilyn is taking on the boys here following some good results against her sex – 4th in the QE2 Cup, and a win in the Flora Stakes in 2020.
Good news the morning line is finally up and it has Aristoteles on 2.5, Satono Flag 5.9, Weltreisender 10.0 and Win Marilyn as the top four picks. So we are on song here.
At Chukyo the TV Tokai Hai Tokai Stakes is over 1800m on the dirt and we have the Morning Line here. Inti is on top on 2.5 with Yutaka Take in the irons, and then there is a bit of a gap in the market to Auvergne 7.2 and Hayayakko on 7.5, and our roughie here is Muito Obregado on 36.1.
