We were delighted with White Lavender 28/1 finding her form and coming second .  Raasel was third at 22/1.

Earlier the Thoroughbred Stakes saw Epictetus inflict a defeat on the odds-on favourite Nostrum with Galeron 14/1 third home.  Seems we can't pick the right 14/1 shot as our roughie Bold Disscovery was 5th.

The Glorious saw Hamish underline his good form over this 2400m trip winning from Jack Darcy 18/1 and Candleford third.

They are expecting more rain before and/or during Saturday's meeting so it is most likely that the ground will get a softer rating than the current "good".  The Lilie Langtry is the G2 on the card for f&m over 2800m with 9 runners.  Free Wind -Gosdens-Dettori – comes in as even money favourite but if the track is wet we wouldn't be taking that price.  River of Stars is 7/2 for Beckett-Rossa Ryan and Time Lock 11/2 for Charltons – Ryan Moore.

The Stewards' Cup is a Heritage Handicap with a maximum field of 28 which is something you don't seem to be able to say too often these days.  It's 1200m.  Orazio is on 4/1 for Charlie Hills and Jim Crowley, Bielsa 10/1 and Aleezdancer 17/2 are both from Kevin Ryan's yard with Neil Callan and Ryan Moore the respective jockeys, and Their Majesties are after a second winner this week with King's Lyn and Andrew Balding legging up apprentice Harry Davies.
