Heavy going at Newbury

3 minute read

As expected the heavy going put paid to some of the runners in Saturday's features.

In the World Trophy Stakes favouret Raasel didn't place and second favourite Sense of Duty ran third behind the 12/1 winner Thunderbear and the 11/4 second Nymphadora.

In the Mill Reef Array, a No Nay Never colt, handled the track well under Oisin Murphy with the Andrew Balding trained winner finishing half a length in front of Mister Sketch the favourite.  Third went to Seven Questions who just got a nostril in front of Spanish Phoenix. Red Zone Hero was a non-runner because "he scoped wrong".

Both races had small fields and with the heavy going there's not much to put in the Little Black Book.
