Laurel River steals Dubai World Cup

3 minute read

On a mild evening at Meydan there were plenty of thrills and a few upsets.

This was one of them when Laurel River  under an inspired ride from Tadgh O'Shea won by a record 8 ½ lengths from the fast-finishing Ushba Tesoro who turned the tables on his conqueror in Saudi Senor Buscador.  This was part of a double for O'Shea and trainer Bhupat Seemar.

Our biggest thrill of the night was when Brenton Avdulla rode a brilliant race on California Spangle  to put Hong Kong back on the honour board.
