Hong Kong galloper Green Birdie, who beat Rocket Man in the 2010 Singapore Group 1 KrisFlyer International Sprint will be prepared by Caulfield trainer Tony Vasil for the upcoming spring.

The now eight-year-old gelding started his career with Melbourne Cup winning trainer Brian Jenkins, running second behind Miss Andretti in the 2006 Group 2 Schillaci Stakes, before being sent to the Casper Fownes stable in Hong Kong.
The son of Catbird has not won a race since the KrisFlyer and has only had the one start in the past year when safely held in the Group 1 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint.
Aquanita Racing Manger Sam Doran said they are very happy to get a horse like Green Birdie who has a good international record.
“He has only been here a week and Tony will look to aim him at some of the early weight-for-age races in Melbourne such as the Monash and Bletchingly,” said Doran.
“He has had a lot of niggles so we are hoping we can get him ready in time but we are not really thinking past those races,” he added.
“Obviously being an eight-year-old he does not have a great deal of racing left in him but we have had a good association with the manager of the horse who has provided a number of horses over the years including Psychologist and we are grateful he has decided to send him to Tony.”
Vasil unearthed another talented galloper yesterday when two-year-old filly Elite Elle won very well at Ballarat on debut, defeating fellow Aquanita runner Prince Stratum by 2.5L.
“It was a good solid win and there is a race for her at Mornington on the Monday of the long weekend and that will be here next race so it's slowly slowly with her,” said Doran.
