His small team of runners currently based at Rosehill opened their winning account at Scone on Thursday with Shengli recording a debut win in a 1300m Maiden Handicap.

Shengli was previously trained by Paul Messara and arrived at Gary Moore’s stable with Messara taking up a position as Stud Manager at Arrowfield.

Moore is in the process of transferring operations from Macau to Rosehill while trying to wrap up the Macau racing season with his eighth training premiership.

Their season concludes this weekend with meetings on Friday and Sunday where Moore will be looking to maintain his lead in the Trainer’s Premiership.

“I’m going back to Macau in the morning just to be there for the final day. I am three in front at the moment but anything can happen,” Moore told Sky Sports Radio.

“I’ve got 12 runners so I am hoping to have a winner or two but we are a lot more focused on Australia at the moment than Macau.

“We’ve got a nice lot of horses and they will have races coming up in the near future.”
