Godolphin’s It’s Somewhat is the topweight with 59kg and drew barrier 14 for jockey James McDonald.

It’s Somewhat is one of two John O’Shea-trained runners in the Villiers with Malice to be ridden by Sam Clipperton and jumping from gate seven.

The Godolphin camp is one of three stables to have a pair of runners with Chris Waller’s I’m Imposing (Joshua Parr) drawing 17 and Telepathic (Jason Collett) even wider in 18, Gai Waterhouse drawing one with Frespanol (Thomas Huet) and 11 with Pheidon (Adam Hyeronimus) and Team Hawkes starting Ninth Legion (Blake Shinn) from 13 and God’s In Him (Dwayne Dunn) from four.

The two Melbourne visitors had varying luck at the draw with Michael Moroney’s Rhythm To Spare (Christian Reith) coming up with gate eight while Darren Weir’s Puccini (Brad Rawiller) has stall 16, while Queenslander Tinto drew five for Tim Clark.

The in-form Happy Clapper drew gate six for Brenton Avdulla while Festival Stakes winner Mighty Lucky jumps from nine.

Capable mares Casino Dancer (Glyn Schofield) and Zanbagh (Kathy O’Hara) had differing fortunes drawing barriers three and 19 respectively.
