The Royal Western India Turf Club is hosting the biennial event, last held in Hong Kong in 2014.

Sunday’s G1 Indian Oaks race meeting at Mahalakshmi racecourse precedes the start of the business agenda on Monday when a series of bureau meetings will be held as well as an assembly of the Asian Racing Federation's executive council, chaired by the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

Monday’s agenda also includes the International Stewards' Conference and the annual meeting of the Asian Pattern Committee before the official opening ceremony of the ARC at the National Sports Club of India.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan will deliver the key-note address at the opening ceremony before three days of business sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"The racing industry continues to experience significant change and in certain parts of the world great turmoil,” said Engelbrecht-Bresghes.

“The opportunity to present new ideas and better understand the complex challenges our sport faces is always welcome. We anticipate building on the developments since Hong Kong hosted the conference in 2014."

Tuesday’s business sessions will address industry trends and strategies under the title of "The Wagering Landscape" while sessions will be devoted to international breeding, racecourse management and industry profiles.

Wednesday’s sessions focus on the media, marketing, handicapping, race programming and international horse travel while Thursday’s topics cover drug free racing, racing and breeding in China, illegal gambling and new innovations in racing and marketing.
