2016 Queensland Oaks – Betting Update

Last week’s racing has only served to cloud the three-year-old fillies’ picture in Brisbane and that is reflected in a wide market for the 2016 Queensland Oaks.

After a surprise result and a few key defeats in last Saturday’s 2016 Doomben Roses, the TAB all-in market now has three fillies sharing favouritism for the 2016 Queensland Oaks.

All on $7 are Falkenberg, Imposing Lass and Provocative while another 11 fillies sit between $9 and $12 in the TAB market.

Falkenberg has firmed after a luckless run to finish seventh in the 2016 Doomben Roses, her 2016 Queensland Oaks quote shortening from $9.

Imposing Lass had been a $6 2016 Queensland Oaks favourite after she won the 2016 Gold Bracelet but her third placing in the 2016 Doomben Roses saw her ease a point.

New Zealand filly Provocative was a big firmer last week after she won her Australian debut at Ipswich.

Kebede was a $26 chance for the 2016 Queensland Oaks last week but firmed into $12 after her win in the 2016 Doomben Roses while the horse she beat, Sebring Sally, shortened from $51 to $35.

Dawnie Perfect caught the eye running on into sixth placing in the 2016 Doomben Roses and she has now shortened in 2016 Queensland Oaks betting from $21 to $9.

Chabaud, already an Oaks winner in Tasmania, tightened from $26 to $12 for the 2016 Queensland Oaks after she won the 2016 South Australian Fillies Classic last Saturday.
