Favourite Mackintosh has drawn gate five for Saturday’s 2016 Queensland Derby at Eagle Farm.
Winner of the two traditional lead-ups in the 2016 Rough Habit Plate and the 2016 Grand Prix Stakes, Mackintosh is one of four runners in the 2016 Queensland Derby for trainer Chris Waller with stablemates Encosta Line in eight, Rodrico in 13 and Multifacets in nine.
A final field of 18 plus one emergency had been drawn for the 2016 Queensland Derby with South Australian Derby winner Howard Be Thy Name drawing barrier two and runner-up Etymology coming up with the outside gate.Other key runners include Cylinder Beach in 10, Eagle Way in 11 and Brazen in 17.
