The Adam Durrant-trained runner was the first favourite to salute on Winterbottom Stakes Day with the son of Pierro producing a dominant performance.

Settled midfield behind a leisurely early speed, Arcadia Prince unleashed an impressive turn of foot once straightened.

After hitting the front 100m from home, the gelding drew clear for a 2 ¾ length success over second favourite Spillinova.

A full brother to WA Guineas winner Arcadia Queen, today’s Crown Towers Benchmark 72 Handicap (1400m) at Ascot was Arcadia Prince’s third win in four runs this prep.

“I’ve always had a lot of time for him,” winning owner Bob Peters said.

“Maybe he’s looked at what his sister can do.”

“He was travelling well. There wasn’t a lot of speed on early which allowed him to be around midfield. Coming to the corner I thought he was going really well and he did the job.”
