Waller entered Nature Strip for Saturday’s G3 Rubiton Stakes after the weekend transfer of the 4YO from his former trainer Darren Weir.

Nature Strip was set to resume at Caulfield last Saturday before stewards ordered his scratching from the WJ Adams Stakes in the wake of the show cause notice served on Weir.

Waller is the fifth trainer to prepare Nature Strip, who has won eight of his 12 starts.

Nature Strip was among a big list of horses to work at Moonee Valley on Monday where the markers were out 14 metres.

With Damian Lane in the saddle he set the time standard in the soft conditions, dashing over 800m in 50.4 seconds with his final 400m in 23.49 the fastest of the morning.

Waller is also the new trainer of classy 3YO Ringerdingding, winner of the G2 Sandown Guineas in November when trained by Weir.

Other ex-Weir gallopers Night's Watch and Age Of Fire also appeared at Moonee Valley on Monday following their transfer to Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.

They were also timed over 800m in 53.08 seconds, taking 24.79 seconds for their last 400m as they prepare to resume in Saturday’s T.S. Carlyon Cup (1600m) at Caulfield.

Maher said the pair had come to him in “outstanding condition” and reported that they had adapted well to their new stables.
