Gold Coast and Gosford Features Rescheduled

3 minute read

Racing Queensland has transferred the $200,000 TAB QTIS 3YO Jewel to Eagle Farm next Saturday following the wash out of the Gold Coast meeting on Saturday.

The last three races at the Gold Coast meeting were cancelled due to visibility concerns after heavy rain and a downgrading of the track to a Heavy 10.

The TAB QTIS 3YO Jewel will be added to the Eagle Farm program while the scheduled Class 4 Plate over 2200m will be transferred to the Sunshine Coast meeting next Sunday.

The field for the QTIS Jewel will remain in place with scratchings reinstated.

The Listed TAB Goldmarket Handicap, also cancelled on Saturday, will be re-scheduled to the Gold Coast meeting next Saturday with fresh nominations to be taken on Monday.

It will be run as the final race on the card to provide jockeys with the opportunity to ride in the QTIS Jewel at Eagle Farm and then travel to the Gold Coast to ride in the Goldmarket.

The Maiden Plate scheduled for Saturday’s Gold Coast will be abandoned to accommodate the running of the Goldmarket.

In NSW the $150,000 Polytrack Provincial Championships Qualifier that was scheduled for Gosford on Saturday will now be added to the Newcastle program on Thursday.

The field will remain with the running rail moved back to the true position.

The Gosford meeting was postponed after heavy rain during the morning, leaving surface water on the track
