2019 PJ O’SHEA STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
No clear leader so not expecting much of a tempo. SIXTIES GROOVE (6) was the eye catcher in the G1 Doomben Cup when running on hard for a 1L third to race rival Kenedna. Had also placed first up and will relish getting out to this trip with two wins and a placing from three attempts. Previous third up winner so can peak. Gets his chance to turn the tables.
KENEDNA (9) scored her second Group 1 from her past three starts with a fast-finishing win in the Doomben Cup. Beat her main rivals in the process and took her record at this course to two from three. If she can run the longer trip out strongly she will be hard to beat again.
LIFE LESS ORDINARY (2) was another to charge home when second in the Doomben Cup following a Hollindale Stakes win. That form must be respected. SHILLELAGH (8) wasn't far away in the Doomben Cup and has a touch of class. Contender. TALLY (5) could improve up in trip third up.
