Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 8.

Wagga: Race 1 @ 12:00pm

Miner, Min Min Light and Share The Blame will press forward. TALIANO (5) started warm favourite last start over 1175m at Albury and after looming up at the furlong just failed to get past the leader and subsequent winner. Has only raced twice so open to further improvement which should see him take this out. Hardest to beat will be NESSLEDO (9) first up from a 21-week spell. Kicked off last prep with a placing over 900m then was competitive without threatening at her other three runs. Trialled okay leading into this return. MISS CHARLIE (7) worked home fairly into 5th place at Bathurst recently over 1400m. Each-way claims. RIVERINA BOY (4) did his best work late on debut last time and is better placed over a longer trip today. SELECTION: #5 Taliano to take care of a weak maiden field.

Gunnedah: Race 2 @ 1:25pm

Good early speed from Giordano. GIORDANO (2) led into the straight on debut over 1100m at Scone and looked a chance until claimed at the 75m mark, battling on well from there to finish 3rd. Will derive great benefit from that run and coming back a little in trip is a plus. LITTLE GEOFFREY (1) worked his way into contention before the corner then boxed on well for 2nd over this trip at Tamworth last time out. Has now placed 7/14 without winning which is a troubling trend for a horse that has come up in red figures in early markets.  Respect any money for the first starter BARD'S VOICE (4). Throw SOUDI (12) in the exotics. SELECTION: Keen on #2 Giordano.

Mildura: Race 7 @ 4.00pm

ANALYTICA (1) showed good ability at his maiden campaign when he won twice and placed in town. May want further but is progressive and can sprint well enough to win fresh. FABIAN'S SPIRIT (6) hasn't been far away at his past couple after just missing first up. Can give a big sight from the draw on the fence. THE RAVEN (7) made an encouraging return when runner up and has a good second up record. MALAUKA (4) is lightly-raced and progressing well. Include. SELECTION: The talented #1 Analytica to win fresh.
