2019 GRAFTON CUP – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
A genuine tempo in this year's Cup, headed by Igraine, Sopressa and He Ekscels. IGRAINE (1) started to wind up before the corner then careered right away with the Caloundra Cup last start over 2400m at the Sunshine Coast. Has now been in the top-three at four of his last five runs, all at black-type level. Big hike in the weights today but he has the class to prevail.
With a 4kgs weight pull HE EKSCELS (4) is a danger. Went to Sydney last start and scored a surprise win over 2000m at Rosehill. Led from barrier rise that day and refused to lie down when challenged. Will be tough to cut down again.
SOPRESSA (3) led but had no answer to Igraine at the Sunshine Coast recently. Tough mare who probably takes a sit with the blinkers removed today. Cannot be underestimated. VAUCLUSE BAY (5) has placed 4/4 at today's trip so he must go in the exotics.
