Brisbane Best: Doomben – 30th May 2020

Exciting Sydney colt Dawn Passage can land a hat trick of wins when he heads north to Doomben on Saturday.

The Waterhouse-Bott three-year-old should prove hard to beat in one of the day's features, the Group 3 Fred Best Classic over 1350m.

Dawn Passage is on the up with back-to-back wins over 1400m in Sydney, overcoming a wide trip for a dominant win in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas before proving too good again at Rosehill a fortnight ago.

His recent ratings are well clear of what his rivals have been producing so if jockey Brad Stewart can secure him a decent run in transit he should be too strong.

A big drop in grade sees talented mare Gin 'N' Bitters well placed in the day's opener.

The lightly-raced four-year-old started her career in perfect fashion winning her first three starts over 1000m at Sunshine Coast before jumping to the Listed Chief De Beers Handicap where she boxed on for fourth.

The drop back in class to a benchmark 72 is a significant one and gives Gin 'N' Bitters her chance to return to her winning ways.
