2020 STRADBROKE HANDICAP – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Deep Image from a wide gate will press hard to lead from Bam's On Fire booting up on the fence. DAWN PASSAGE (16) brings excellent form in three-year-old races to this year's Straddy. Stalked the pace then was a shade too strong in the G3 Fred Best over 1350m at Doomben last Saturday. Drawn wide but with the light weight only needs a bit of cover to unleash and give Gai her first win in this feature.
Reigning champ TREKKING (1) will be tough to beat after chalking-up his second G1 success last start with a driving finish in the 1200m Goodwood in Adelaide. Carries 4 kgs more this year and draws the car park but he is the class runner and will be storming home.
VICTOREM (5) showed a great turn of foot to win the G2 Victory Stakes with a bit in reserve over 1200m here a fortnight ago. Bomb-proof gelding who is perfectly placed third up over the extra furlong. EXHILARATES (18) gave Dawn Passage a start and ran him to three-quarters of a length last weekend. Perfectly drawn and ready to peak third up. HIGHTAIL (17) is up sharply in grade but low-flying this prep.
