2020 SIR RUPERT CLARKE STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Loads of early pressure engaged here but expecting Begood Toya Mother, Runson and Dollar For Dollar to contest it. The Memsie produced the winner of this race last year and the Memsie winner turns up in 2020 with a great chance.
BEHEMOTH (1) got a nice run there but he powered away to land that Group One contest and while he gives weight all around he demands respect at the same course and distance. TAGALOA (15) is also a Group One winner, having landed the Blue Diamond last term, and he ran well first up. Travelled on-pace in the G3 McNeil Stakes at this track over 1200m but found one better. Think he will relish the 1400m and can see him benefitting from sitting off a strong tempo.
AGE OF CHIVALRY (11) ran second in this race last year and has built up ideally for the race again this time around. He peaks and goes close, as does BANQUO (16) who backs up after a good effort last time in the G2 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington over 1200m. Superstorm and Cascadian are others with strong claims in a typically deep betting contest.
