Check out some of the pointers which can give you a winner in races like the Everest lead up and the babies stepping out for the first time.
G2 Premiere Stakes (1200m 3yo+ WFA)
- Notable winners: Brutal (2019), Santa Ana Lane (2018), In Her Time (2017), Takedown (2016), Terravista (2015), Famous Seamus (2014), Red Tracer (2012), Hot Danish (2010), Paratroopers (2006), Spark Of Life (2004), Thorn Park (2003), Mr Innocent (1999/2000), Joanne (1991/1992), Sky Chase (1988), Campaign King (1987), Emancipation (1983), Kingston Town (1981).
- Has been very much a G1 horse's race in recent years with the last six having tasted success at the highest level. The 1980s saw many elite horses win too.
- In Her Time won the Premiere in 2017 but didn't make the Everest field however Clearly Innocent, who ran third, was selected. Santa Ana Lane ran well in the Everest betting after winning in 2018.
- Mares have won 4 of the last 10 years.
- Deprive won his first 6 Randwick starts but hasn't won the most recent 3.
- A Kosciuszko chance is entered with Lord Von Costa.
- Fasika and Libertini looking to add to the 8 mares that have previously run in The Everest.

G3 Breeders' Plate (1000m 2yo C&G SW)
- Notable winners: Capitalist (2015), Vancouver (2014), Pierro (2011), Sebring (2008), Snitzel (2004), Charge Forward (2003), Choisir (2001), Mistegic (2000), Encounter (1996), Ravarda (1994), Show County (1988), Maizcay (1986), Luskin Star (1976), Baguette (1969), Eskimo Prince (1963), Sky High (1959), Mighty Kingdom (1957), Victory Lad (1943), Yaralla (1940), Heroic (1923).
- It was first run in 1906 and was won by Boniform.
- The race was not run in 2007 due to Equine Influenza but was rescheduled to early 2008 and became a Golden Slipper lead up.
- The race was held in two divisions in 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978.
- This 1000m event has an incredible honour roll for not only providing top horses but the Golden Slipper winner.
- Those to do the Breeders' Plate/Golden Slipper double are Eskimo Prince, Baguette, Luskin Star, Sebring (EI year), Pierro, Vancouver and Capitalist.
- Top future stallions as winners include Snitzel, who has developed into the champion sire, Charge Forward ran Dance Hero into third in 2003 and Choisir eventually turned into a globetrotting star on and off the track. Clang, Encounter and Ravarda are also future feature winners.
- Gai Waterhouse has a brilliant record in the race with the likes of Vancouver, Law, Whittington, Pierro, Sebring, Sparks and High Rolling.
- There has never been much Victorian impact in this race but in 2018, Dubious did the job for Ciaron Maher & David Eustace.

- The race was not run in 2007 due to Equine Influenza but was rescheduled to early 2008 and became a Golden Slipper lead up.
- The race was held in two divisions in 1975, 1976 and 1977.
- This fillies race hasn't quite the results of the boys in the Breeders' Plate.
- Portillo won in 2008. That was the Equine Influenza year but she did place in the Golden Slipper behind Sebring.
- Mirror Mirror won a Magic Millions in 2006 after taking the Gimcrack.
- Media placed in the Slipper to Stratum five months after winning at Randwick.
- In the Golden Slipper era, the best winner of the Gimcrack has been Wenona Girl. She was good enough to subsequently win races like the AJC Sires, Flight Stakes, Rosehill Guineas, Thousand Guineas, AJC Oaks, George Main, Orr Stakes and two Lightnings for good measure.
