HRC Officials earlier this morning were hoping for a break in the weather to enable the eight-race program to go ahead, but that hasn't eventuated.

With continuing rain predicted, RacingNSW stewards in collaboration with the club, have decided to call off the meeting, with the track already rated a "Heavy 10".

As a result of Hawkesbury's washout, nominations for all races at Newcastle on Saturday have been extended until 11am tomorrow.

. Hawkesbury's next meeting is the Lander Toyota Ladies Day Cup on Thursday week, coinciding with Oaks Day at Flemington.

The $150,000 Ladies Day Cup (1600m) carries Listed status, and will be supported by the $45,000 Stayers' Class 4 Handicap (2100m) and six other races, each worth $35,000.

Nominations for all races close at 11am on Friday.
