2020 CANTALA STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Expecting a strong tempo with the big field creating pressure but Buffalo River will be ridden positively and can lead them at a good gallop.
BUFFALO RIVER (13) led them up in the Toorak but couldn't see off MR QUICKIE (2) who found his best form there in the strong tempo mile. Similar scenario setting up here with Buffalo River potentially fitter for that second up run at the mile and the one to side with. His racing pattern means he always has a great chance.
FIFTY STARS (1) has been set for this race and things have gone perfectly, running a big race second up at 1400m last time which can bring him right to the boil now. Big chance.
ROCK (9) won well at Newcastle and sat at the pointy end of betting in the Epsom on the back of that. Touch flat perhaps. He could bounce back. NONCONFORMIST (15) is an interesting runner back in trip. Keeps improving and no shock to see him measure up. Clearly the chances don't end there.
