2020 VICTORIA DERBY – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Gentle tempo expected. Let's Karaka Deel lands handy and doubt they will let Young Werther get too far out of it. Tour Of Duty may come across and take up the running or settle right there with the pace.
YOUNG WERTHER (5) won a maiden that worked out really well and he should have made it two from two when held up for clear running here last time and charging when he got going late on. Comes into the Derby off a very light prep but the stable continue to do a brilliant job preparing these types and he may well be the best talent on offer.
CHERRY TORTONI (1) has the best form in the book. Stutt run was terrific and there was a big gap to third last week when he ran out 2040m strongly. Getting too far back off a slow tempo looks his primary concern. ALBARADO (2) won the Caulfield Classic with HIT THE SHOT (6) and LET'S KARAKA DEEL (4) among those in the bunched finish there. All could be sharp improvers off that.
