2021 OAKLEIGH PLATE – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Fast tempo assured with Anders flying across to join Ancestry and others. Pressure in numbers as expected in an Oakleigh Plate. ANDERS (18) will have to fly early but that is the way he goes about it. Think he has the pace cross them all and running home down will be no easy task at 1100m, a trip he excelled over early last preparation.
DIRTY WORK (2) also comes here first up off a spring where he really came of age. Was winning prior to that but went to a new level against the better horses last time and this is within his range based on what we saw there. ANCESTRY (6) is a fast horse earmarked for this race from a long way out.
He should run well, as should the West Australian mare CELEBRITY QUEEN (7) who can get a soft run from three and will be as strong as any over the last 100m. RANTING (17) is well suited to this test and so is HANSEATIC (16) if he can recapture his form from 12 months ago.
