2021 ASPIRATION QUALITY - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Aspiration Quality is Group 3 race for fillies and mares at Randwick conducted by the Australian Turf Club.

The Aspiration Quality is run over 1600m and was introduced in 2007. It is run under Quality Handicap conditions with a maximum topweight of 61kg.

The Aspiration Quality has been run at Randwick each year with the exception of two runnings at Warwick farm in 2011 and 2013.

The Aspiration Quality was run as a Listed Race until 2013 and was upgraded to Group 3 status in 2014.

The Aspiration Quality is a part of the sequence of feature races for fillies and mares over the Sydney autumn carnival that include the G2 Triscay Stakes, G2 Millie Fox Stakes, G1 Coolmore Classic, G2 Emancipation Strakes and G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes.

Diamond Drille won the Aspiration Quality/Queen Of The Turf Stakes double in 2014.

Nettoyer defended her title in 2020 with an incredible last to first win. It meant she'd won the same type G3 race at Randwick (Angst in the Spring) three times. Two runs later she won the Doncaster Mile.

The 2021 Aspiration Quality was worth $160,000 in prizemoney as a feature of the Randwick Guineas program.

Previous winners of the Aspiration Quality include Banc De Fortune, Illuminates, Sacred Choice, Fibrillation, Thy, Diamond Drille, Heavens Above and Nettoyer x 2.

The 2020 Aspiration Quality was won by Nettoyer from Irithea and Savacool.
