Winning Trainer: Richard & Michael Freedman (Michael comments)

On the stable's form: "It's a big team effort as it is with any stable. Really thrilled for Jean. He works so hard with us. Travels all over NSW to pick up rides. He gave this filly a great ride in Canberra along with Prime Star later in the day. I'm thrilled for him and for a new bunch of owners. James Harron and I have done a fillies partnership together and this is the first filly out of that partnership. To get a group winner out of that is a big thrill."

On the Slipper chances: "It's hard to say. It wasn't probably the plan to lead today. I don't think she is necessarily a jump and sit on speed. We were dictated a bit by the barrier but I gave Jean the option to go forward and leading if he had to. I actually think she is a better filly sitting off the speed if she had to so let's let the dust settle. She is in the race so it gives us some options. James and I will have a chat about it and if she pulls up alright, we might have a shy at the stumps."

On Stay Inside: "He ran to his name. A bit frustrating. Those small fields with bad barriers meant we were forced to ride him back a bit. He's come through the run well. Hope everything goes well and we'll push on for two weeks."

Winning Jockey: Jean Van Overmire

On the filly: "I thought she ran very well at Canberra, she was only improved from the run, especially today coming over the 1200m. She was still going to finish hard.

"I like her, I think she's still got a lot of improvement in her."

On his first Group win: "I'm a bit lost for words to be honest, I don't really know what to say. I'm over the moon.

"A big appreciation goes to the Freedman Brothers, they really support me and give me opportunities as we can see here. I'm very, very grateful."

On what it would mean to ride in the Golden Slipper: "You don't give away opportunities like that, do you?"

Beaten Jockeys:

Tim Clark (Swift Witness): "She's done a very good job there."

Tom Marquand (Sliders): "She ran a solid race. Bounced nicely and travelled well in behind the leader. She's run a big race."

Rachel King (Vianello): "Just didn't get a lot of room to really fully test her."

Nash Rawiller (Ruby Kisses): "She ran a respectable race. Wasn't suited when they backed it off mid-race. She stuck on."

Alysha Collett (Pretty Woman): "She didn't getting any galloping room, she was unlucky. It was a very tight run race, they went slow in front. We know she has plenty more there."

Kerrin McEvoy (Joyous Legend): "Tiny bit keen when they crossed me. She gave a little kick near the end."

Hugh Bowman (Testimonial): "Good run."

James McDonald (Trifaccia): "Lovely filly, still learning her craft. She has plenty of ability. She will win a big one over this carnival."

Jason Collett (Flying Witness): "Found the line well."

Regan Bayliss (Chill): "Nice run for something over a bit further."

Tommy Berry (Gstaad): "She's just a big baby at the moment. They didn't go over quickly, she over-raced. She will be fine in time."
