Winning Trainer: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott (Adrian Bott comments)

On the run: "Fantastic. Really racing with a lot of confidence at the moment and when he does that we know he's a very capable horse on his day. He'll back up in the Doncaster now providing he comes through it well, that was always the plan. He profiles as a lovely prospect for the race."

On if he's worried about the seven day back-up into the Doncaster: "I'm not. I know it didn't work for him there on the Gold Coast but he's further into his preparation now. And as I said he's fit and well and he's just so happy and enjoying his work at present. I can't see why he wouldn't be able to back up next week."

On his Doncaster chances and connections: "Importantly he'll be there on a nice light weight. I'm so excited for Dynamic Syndications, they are great supporters of us and wanted to have this plan in place for a while and we've been able to execute it for them. Will be great to see him take his place for them as well."

On Shout The Bar heading to the Doncaster as well: "Unfortunately we've got to put that All Star Mile run behind her. Unfortunately she just didn't get the conditions on the day. She's come up and trialled nicely, she'll run a strong mile there at home. She'll bounce back off that run.

Winning Jockey: Craig Williams

On the win: "We all saw how the track is playing and we all know his run style."

"Adrian [Bott] was quite open with his instructions, he's a good on-speed horse, he drops 7kg, but if someone goes mad utilise common sense. As it turned out I just had to sit there and trust his ability and stamina. He was very decisive today, he took a lot of running down today."

On pressing on to the Doncaster: "Whenever I ride for Gai and Adrian, Gai always asks me how many Group 1 winners have you trained Craig and I say that's a big zero.

"So I'll leave the placement and the targets for the trainers and I'm just grateful for the opportunities when they come about."

Beaten Jockeys:

Mark Zahra (So Si Bon): "Held his ground OK."

Josh Parr (Mister Sea Wolf): "Terrific effort. Showed great enthusiasm. Ran really well."

Sam Clipperton (Dawn Passage): "Thought I was going to do something but couldn't go on with it."

Brenton Avdulla (Rock): "He never really tracked at all but wasn't beaten far. Strange run."

James McDonald (Buffalo River): "Disappointing."

Regan Bayliss (Carif): "Needs a bit further."

Jay Ford (Archedemus): "Ran really well. Will improve off that."

Hugh Bowman (Purple Sector): "Flat as a tack."

Tom Marquand (Grey Lion): "Ran absolutely super first time back. Really hit the last 100m well and enjoyed himself. Back on track."

Glen Boss (Handle The Truth): "Didn't run the trip."

Kerrin McEvoy (Bottega): "He ran well. Just over travelled a little bit with the winkers on but the other day he didn't travel without them. He's one of those ones in between."

Tim Clark (Just Thinkin'): "Disappointing."

Jason Collett (Subedar): "Ran well. Was too far back."
