Winning Trainer: Richard and Michael Freedman (Richard comments)

Coming off gut-busting run: "It took him about an hour to recover from that race last start. But Rachel knows him now and knows you've got to push him into an early position, when he's there he will start to travel.

On the horse: "The old bloke, he's as genuine as they come. He's a real old beauty and I'm happy for the owners and for him. He gives his absolute best. He is a lovely horse to train."

Onto Brisbane?: "He is so resilient that I think we could take him to Brisbane and there might be a couple of nice races up there for him. He's got himself down in the weights and I think he might give them something to beat up there, provided he pulls up well here."

Winning Jockey: Rachel King

On the win: "Finally he's drawn a gate. That's been his problem. He's had to go all the way back or work very hard to go forward. Just nice to draw a gate. Still made a bit of hard work at the start. But he's able to put himself in a nice spot there. Always promised to win a nice race. Couldn't be happier to do it on him."

On his prep: "He's been in absolutely super form all preparation really. Credit to Michael and Richards' team. They've had him in really good form without much luck. Everything went his way today."

Beaten Jockeys:

James McDonald (Zaaki): "He's a very good horse."

Glen Boss (Hang Man): "He went very, very good. It was very pedestrian in the middle quarters of the race so it was a sprint home but I'd say he sprinted home quickest in the race."

Jamie Kah (Carif): "I thought he was OK. Obviously he needs further and they got to him pretty soon. Needs the run and had a good blow."

Josh Parr (Wu Gok): "He's in good shape but needs give in the ground."

Tim Clark (Entente): "Had a lovely run. Disappointing."

Hugh Bowman (Grey Lion): "He ran really well."

Tommy Berry (Zeyrek): "He was unlucky."

Kerrin McEvoy (Polly Grey): "Nice run. He got buffeted when the race developed. Just lacked a turn of foot on top of the ground. She ran well."
