Trainer Andrew Noblet is hoping a winning combination will come to the fore for a breakthrough Saturday victory at Flemington

Jockey Patrick Moloney and Witchfulthinking team up in the VRC Member Ben Edney Trophy (1400m) with the pair aiming for a third victory.

Moloney rode Witchfulthinking to victory at Warrnambool during last month's carnival having earlier combined with the daughter of War Chant at Terang last November.

Apprentice Will Price had the ride on Witchfulthinking when she was successful at Sandown last December while Jamie Kah was aboard in her debut win at Wangaratta.

Witchfulthinking is the $9 third favourite in Saturday's race with TAB which has the Kah-ridden Snickerdoodledandy the $2.80 favourite ahead of Don'Ttelltheboss ($5).

"She's coming off a good win at Warrnambool and is drawn nicely," Noblet said.

"And what you see is what you get with her.

"She'll go forward and Patrick gets on well with her. He gets her tempo right and she's worked well leading into this, so she should be thereabouts."

Noblet also has high hopes for Foxy Freda in the VRC Member Brian Lindsey Trophy (1400m) after an unlucky performance at Sandown on May 23.

Foxy Freda finished fifth to Sir Davey over 1300m after recording a maiden win at Ballarat at her previous start.

"She came through it good and I thought she was unlucky," Noblet said.

"It seemed a bit of a leaders track and she got back and it probably cost her running in the first three.

"She's drawn well and she should be able to get a good run from there."

Foxy Freda is a $12 chance with Way To Go Paula, another Kah-ridden runner, the TAB's $4 favourite.
