2021 JJ ATKINS – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Slick pace with Volcanic Rock finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. CONVERGE (2) was the real eye catcher of the G2 BRC Sires' Produce Stakes where he settled last in the big field but rocketed home to miss by a head. Placed in the G1 Champagne Stakes over this distance two back and is looking for the journey again. Hard to hold out.
TIGER OF MALAY (1) was brave when he held Converge off to win the Sires'. If he can run a strong mile he is a definite chance to do the double. PORT LOUIS (5) is progressing well and found the line strongly when third in the Sires. Extra journey a plus and is among the leading chances. RANCH HAND (7) ran below expectations last time out but is better than that and missed narrowly fresh. Worth another chance. Wouldn't surprise to see SUBTERRANEAN (3) in the finish.
