Winning Trainer: Grahame Begg

"We purchased her for my father and my mother at the Premier Sale last year. She's given us a lot of grief to get here and I've got to say a big thank you to Julien Welsh. She's had a lot of issues going to the barriers (and) that's why she's had a belated start.

"It was only three weeks ago that she had to go back and get a ticket. Just had an attitude but that's very much (a trait of) Written Tycoon. They've just got to go their way a little bit.

"Written By had the same sort of attitude loading into the gates. But this girl has shown us a bit of talent. I was a bit unsure today, first start. I just thought to give her a nice introduction, don't rush her in the early stages of the race, let it unfold for her and it worked out perfectly.

"(She has) a lot of attitude. When she was parading before the first race a jockey walked in wheeling his bag and she could hear the noise of the bag getting wheeled in and she got up on her toes a little bit."

"She's certainly got plenty of attitude and it's great for her to win at her first start."

What's next: "We've got to keep going through our grades a little bit. I think the only way with her is to get a bit of seasoning under her belt, get a few runs and she'll come around."

Owners: "I'm very pleased for the folks back in Sydney. They'll be delighted."

Winning Jockey: Billy Egan

"It was nice for her to win. She's very green. We were happy to sit out the back and everyone do their thing. A few went hard and knocked each other down, she just stayed out of trouble and built her momentum and slowly went through her gears.

"She had a good experience and getting to the line the others had a bit tougher run and she saved her energy.

On the way to the start: "She was just new and that's why I didn't want her to stir up too much and give her a bad experience because I knew that she could go the wrong way. I think she'll be much more calm the next time around."
