It will be another wet day at Morphettville which generally occurs in Winter as the ground doesn’t get a chance to dry out.
We had thought Street Tough would be the one for the weekend in Race 4 but he will likely come out as he was engaged in the Mildura Cup on Friday.
So with that in mind, there is another from that same race who has very solid form and it is the top weight Dexelation.
He hasn't won for some time but has contested far better races than this one.
Just in the last 12 months he placed in an Irwin, Wangoom and Gold Topaz while recently he was not far away at G3 level in the Sir John Monash Stakes.
Importantly he does love the wet and the heavy will be even better. He probably runs about $3.50 after scratchings.
In the following race, Liberalized might be one of the favourites but is still a value price to back in the short course race.
This 3yo from Wangaratta has been so consistent around this distance range but importantly has shown good ability on the wet tracks.
Just two runs ago he led all the way at Echuca on a Heavy 10 and when they run nearly 69 seconds for the 1100m you know it's like that rating.
It's the chute start so the barrier is not the problem it appears and in fact by this time of the day, that may be where they are coming from to win.
