Winning Trainer: Will Clarken

Stayed in Melbourne: "Lucy Yeomans looked after him at Caulfield last week for us and she did a great job with him."

What happened last week: "Obviously I wasn't there but he shouldn't have been too fresh. He'd had a barrier trial at Balaklava the Monday before on a Heavy 10 and then an eight-hour float trip over. He was cantering down to the start and maybe he just caught Mark (Zahra) a little bit off guard. I did speak to the stewards and they reviewed the incident, and he seemed to be in a bit of a playful mood."

What's next: "There was a Benchmark 90 race at The Valley next week, but that will be off the table now. I think he's capable of winning a low-grade stakes race. I'm not sure whether he will get a mile, but we'll have a look for something up to that distance."

Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah

On how Second Slip has matured: "He's just grown up a lot more now. Obviously he didn't seem like that last start when he had a bit of a gallop around Flemington by himself. He's just matured into more of a furnished horse. Today he had to stop and start with that weight and he's done a really good job in the end."

On what will best suit Second Slip moving forward: "He's a horse with a really big action so I think out over a bit further and a bigger track too would suit him, something like Flemington because here is a little bit too tight and sharp for him. He's done really well then. I think he'll improve this prep and go on and win a nice race."

Potentially better over further: "I think ideally further is going to suit him. I think he is going to get up over a mile and you'll probably see the best of him. He'll use his action, he's a big horse and Will (Clarken) has done an excellent job acquiring him."

On going to the start: "We has perfect today."

Thought on her rides at Caulfield today: "I've got a really good book of rides today on paper I think. I've got a few nice ones but I'm looking forward to partnering my favourite La Mexicana in the last."
