Adele Amour has returned to winning form with a strong win at Caulfield.
After disappointing her trainer first-up at Sandown, Adele Amour has rebounded back into form with a strong victory at Caulfield.
Now John Sadler will search for a race with some black type for the daughter of Sebring after her win in the IAM Handicap (1400m) on Saturday.
But first, Sadler is planning on a return to Caulfield in two weeks for another 1400m race for three-year-old fillies at the VOBIS Gold meeting.
Ridden by Alana Kelly, Adele Amour ($8) raced to a three-quarter length win from Blistering ($31) with Sonora ($15) two lengths away third.
Sadler said he was disappointed with Adele Amour's first-up performance at Sandown on March 23 when the filly finished third as the $2.10 favourite behind Belle Amour, an opponent on Saturday that finished out of the money.
"She wasn't really trained up for it, but I still thought she could win," Sadler said.
"I find these Sebring fillies a bit quirky, and they can turn it on and off, but I worked her in blinkers on Tuesday morning and her work was outstanding."
Sadler said after the VOBIS Gold meeting on April 23, he would head to Adelaide with Adele Amour for the Listed Adelaide Guineas (1600m) at Morphettville on May 14.
"I'd love to get some black type for Eddie Hirsch," Sadler said.
"She'll go to the VOBIS meeting in a fortnight, there's a lovely three-year-old race for her and she'll have a really good chance."
Kelly was having her first ride aboard Adele Amour on Saturday and said the plan had been to try and ride the filly further forward than the midfield position she occupied.
"With the blinkers first time she was a little bit slow away," Kelly said.
"I was speaking to John before the race and we were happy to be in the first four, but it didn't pan out like that.
"I was able to keep her in a nice rhythm and for her to finish off like that, it was pretty good."
