2022 QUEENSLAND GUINEAS – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Genuine pace with Festival Dancer crossing from the outside gate in search of the lead. Very open Guineas. CHARACTER (2) is the class of the race, with a G2 win in the 2000m Tulloch Stakes to his name two runs back at Newcastle. Subsequently failed to run the trip in a slogging Australian Derby at Randwick. Cummings bringing him north is a positive sign that he is through that run okay. The one to beat back to a preferable trip.
BEND THE KNEE (3) is a progressive colt who caught the eye late when third in the Listed South Pacific over 1400m at Randwick last start. Ideally placed out to the mile third up. FESTIVAL DANCER (15) is a talented filly who has mixed it successfully with the boys before, with a third in the Sandown Guineas on her record. Boxed on okay in the mud first up in the Carr over 1400m at Randwick. Has won 4/5 at the mile so she gets her chance.
COASTWATCH (1) has been underwhelming since a big first up win in the Autumn Stks at Caulfield. Capable of far more. ASHGROVE (12) is up in grade but has each-way claims at nice odds.
