2022 DARK JEWEL CLASSIC – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Barossa Rosa should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. The feature race on the card, the $200,000 Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic for fillies and mares. NEVER TALK (8) made up a stack of ground late last time out in the G3 Hawkesbury Crown over 1300m and the extra 100m here looks to suit. Has saluted on all going and will be at her peak fitness for this. Can play a major hand in the finish.
BROOKSPIRE (15) was a touch disappointing when favourite in that same Hawkesbury race when first-up. Strips fitter now and has won two from four when second-up and three from four over the trip. Looms as the main danger. LE GAI SOLEIL (16) is at her best when fresh with four wins and a third from just five first-up attempts. Has to be included.
WANDABAA (2) has been just behind the placegetters of late and is a must for the multiples. MIRRA VISION (1) was placed in Group 1 company two back and can make her presence felt.
