Bad start to the day but ends well: "That's what happens in racing. Great bunch of people and we were a bit concerned about the track but when it got to a Heavy 9 we had to think about scratching but she drew the right gate and she'd come on so much from her first-up start this time around.

"She ran a good forward race at Caulfield and we were very confident she'd run well. Great ride and it just worked out perfectly."

Deserved stakes win: "Absolutely. She gave us a bit of an insight to handling the straight early last preparation and she's quite and honest filly so she's got more wins to come."

The ride: "Absolutely patient."

Winning Jockey: Michael Dee

On disappointment of Lunar Flare scratching: "It was fairly disappointing news to wake up to on Cup Day this morning, but these things happen.

"These horses, they're not robots so it certainly doesn't surprise that things can pop up.

"It's not the end of the world at the end of the day and I'm pretty glad to get one in the last race for Grahame and just tops off and makes up for a disappointing start.

"When Lunar Flare came out this morning, this mare was my focus at the end of the day.

On this horse: "I would have got in trouble if it didn't win because i ended up going way too early and she hit the front and pricked her ears a long way out. She had it won quite comfortably but there was a lot to look at out wide, so she certainly pulled up and had a look around and won comfortably in the end.

"She's pulled up like she hasn't been around. I think with that win today she's got bigger things in store.

"As it turned out the tempo really came in at the 300, just after we joined the course proper and it felt like I had a bit of a flat spot so I let her stride and as it turned out I went way too early.

"So she won it comfortably in the end and she was having a really good look around. She put in a really awkward step there before the winning post looking at something so it was a nice win."
