Winning Trainer: Chris Waller

On heading to the Epsom: "It was a good start today. He's quite an assuming horse at home, he doesn't enthuse you with confidence, but he trialled really well and I think there was some form out of that trial earlier on today. He was given a perfect ride from Kathy (O'Hara), pushed his way out and won like a good horse.

"He did a great job at the end of the autumn, including winning in Queensland, a group race. Jeez, he's come back well and who knows, whether it is an Epsom or the Alan Brown the following week, a $1.5million 1400m race."

"I guess weigh up where he fits in with our others and make sure Kathy's available."

Got plenty to choose from: "Everything's coming together slowly. It's an amazing spring, I've never seen anything like it. There's so many choices and getting them right, I'm sure it'll all work its way out. I think racing's the winner."

Winning Jockey: Kathy O'Hara

On the run: "It was perfect. He travelled well behind the pace and had a very good turn of foot when I got him to the outside. I was keen to follow the leader, I thought he'd kick a bit better than he did, but he had a really good turn of foot.

"If they want to go that way, he'd make a really nice lightweight chance in an Epsom."

Beaten Jockeys:

Adam Hyeronimus (Converge): "I thought he ran great first up. Just the speed of the race had him stretched for a long way."

Jake Bayliss (Irish Songs): "He had a nice enough run. Probably a little bit keen in the middle stages. I just think Queensland horses coming here that Sydney form kicks in. Didn't disgrace himself."

Sam Clipperton (My Whisper): "She just got tired that last 100m."

Zac Lloyd (Tamerlane): "Super run. He probably just knocked up over the 100m. Big first up effort."

Jean Van Overmeire (Aramayo): "That was a good run. Finished really well. Nice way to start this prep."

Tyler Schiller (Barbie's Fox): "I thought she ran well. Probably just wanting some give in the track."

Jay Ford (Olentia): "She actually ran as good as she could from back there. I had to give her a quiet ride from the wide gate to give her cover. It left us with too much to do."

Andrew Adkins (Wild Planet): "He was really honest today. Good to see him show a bit of fight. Had to do a bit of work early to cross. It just took the toll on him in the last 150m. He has wins in store soon."

Brock Ryan (Cuban Royale): "Pretty stiff up the straight. Probably should have won."

Dylan Gibbons (The Fortune Teller): "He was OK."

Kerrin McEvoy (Political Debate): "He might just need another furlong. He could have also felt that firm ground."
