"It was a great race to watch, the lead changed a few times late on. Warby probably just peaked on his run first-up, so he's in for a good prep. But credit to the winner, he's one of the first women's syndicates we've done in the stable, led by my wife [Jane]. He's never won over 1200m before but he loves softer ground, and Jimmy rides him so well."

Always turns up: "He's very consistent. He's not an overly big horse and he had a few setbacks as a younger horse. But he had a good last prep, he raced so well for so long and you could tell last time that he was building towards another win. When he finds his form he tends to hold it, so hopefully he can go on with it now."

Winning Jockey: James Orman

"It's been a bit of a frustrating day, with a few seconds, but it was nice to get a win on the board. Those horse put the writing on the wall last start, and it worked out well today."

"I've had a bit of luck with this horse, so he's been good to me. You can't fault his tenacity, he's always there having a go which is all you can ask for."

First win over 1200m: "He's an older, more mature horse nowadays, and getting the nice run off the speed helped as did the big track here at Eagle Farm."
